We undertook a project at the Agigea port on the Danube-Black Sea Canal to launch a two-piece pontoon into the water. Each piece of the pontoon weighed 5 tons and had dimensions of 6.50 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2 meters in height. The operation required precise handling and placement of the pontoon segments.
Location: Agigea, Danube-Black Sea Canal
Equipment Used: Terex Demag AC50 Crane
Date: 10th April 2024

The Terex Demag AC50 crane, with a lifting capacity of 50 tons, was utilized for this task. The pieces were positioned at a distance of 6-7 meters from the edge of the dock, and the crane operated at a maximum outreach of 10 meters. The operation was scheduled to start around 17:00 due to availability constraints.
Execution:
The team successfully executed the project, ensuring the pontoon segments were securely and accurately lowered into the water. The coordination and handling were executed seamlessly, demonstrating our capacity to manage complex lifting tasks within tight schedules and specific site conditions.
